The construction of our new greenhouse is well underway, creating an exciting opportunity for hands-on learning at Freedom Farm. This space will serve as a living classroom, where our Freedom Project kids and homeschool groups can immerse themselves in the process of nurturing seeds and witnessing their growth. From planting to harvesting, they’ll gain valuable skills and a deeper appreciation for nature.
The Lewis Family is an integral part of the heart of Freedom Farm. Living on the farm, they play a vital role in caring for our many animals, ensuring they are healthy and happy. Beyond their work with the animals, they manage much of the lawn maintenance across our properties, keeping the grounds not just beautiful but a true reflection of the warmth and welcome we strive to provide. Their involvement extends beyond the physical upkeep; they are deeply engaged in many behind-the-scenes activities, offering crucial administrative support and helping to ensure that our events run seamlessly. The dedication and tireless efforts of The Lewis Family are a true blessing to Freedom Farm, and we are incredibly grateful for their unwavering commitment to our mission of restoration and hope.
As we prepare to kick off farm days this month, excitement is building around the Freedom Project! We have newer additions that will provide children in the community with even more opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with both practical skills and spiritual wisdom. With the farm buzzing with anticipation, we’re eager to welcome back familiar faces and greet new participants. Our dedicated volunteers and the recently enhanced education center are ready to make this year’s program the most impactful yet. We can’t wait to see the growth and transformation that this new season will bring!
If you’re passionate about making a difference, we invite you to join us for Farm Days, held on Monday and Friday afternoons. It’s a rewarding opportunity to work directly with children in the Russell County area and contribute to their growth and success. If you’re interested in volunteering, please visit our website and head to the Freedom Project page for more details. We’d love to have you on board!
Through our Hope Project, we provide compassionate support and guidance to young adults aged 18-24 who have aged out of the foster system or are facing crisis situations. Our mission is to create a nurturing and safe environment where healing can flourish. By meeting essential needs and offering life skills classes, we empower these young adults on their journey towards independent living.
“When I moved into Freedom Farm Crossroad, I was leaving behind a toxic relationship and a life I thought I wanted. I was terrified, unsure of what the future held. But thanks to Freedom Farm, I found God, the most amazing people, and rediscovered my faith. They gave me life skills, a supportive community, and the strength to rebuild my life. Today, I’m stronger, surrounded by lifelong friends and family, and thriving in a career I love. I am forever grateful to those who helped me on this journey.” ~Hannah
